Self-Tape and On-Camera
One or Two-Day Workshops
Give your students a solid on-camera technique for their self-tapes—and when they’re on set!
Stef has taught his Self-Tape and On-Camera Workshop at Northwestern University, DePaul University, Columbia College, Roosevelt University, Wright State University and Central State University as well as casting offices around the country.
A two-day workshop can give acting students of all levels a solid, on-camera technique that they can use with their self-tapes and on set—and it won’t conflict with their acting training as Stef approaches the workshop as if he’s teaching a foreign language. The language of on-camera.
Actors MUST learn the language of on-camera and the process of making a quality self-tape or they simply will not book a job in the industry. ANY job.
DAY ONE:
Prior to Day One, Stef has actors prepare a simple “5 and Under” television co-star scene prior to the first day of the workshop. Then on Day One, Stef will review the self-tapes with class as a group. He then takes them step-by-step through his proven technique, The MAP—giving them a solid on-camera foundation that will change the way they look at their self-tapes—helping them create ones that will book them jobs in the future.
After Day One is complete, students will have the opportunity to re-tape—with the techniques they learned that day from Stef.
DAY TWO:
In the group class, Stef goes through each re-submitted self-tape and offers a “what do we see” feedback session where, unlike a normal acting class, students will focus on the technical story-telling of self-tapes and what makes some moments stand out more than others.
